Some are a fresher take on the old days.

From the popular “ghosting” to the lesser-known “breadcrumbing,” this guide will give you a better understanding of the language of love in the digital age.

Adult Classifieds Terms Defined

420: Marijuana, pot, weed, gange etc.

Adult: Someone who is not a minor and over the established legal age. Material or services meant for someone over the legal age set by the government.

Alt Dating: A broad term for dating exclusive to those individuals who are into BDSM, kink, fetish, deviant, Goth or vampire lifestyles.

Anal Definition

Anal: The penetration of the rectum usually by a penis or dildo or strap-on device.

Amateur: Someone who is nonprofessional or unpaid and does something recreationally. A novice or layperson.

B2B: Body to body massage, usually done in the nude.

Baby Daddy: A man who is usually single with a baby by a woman to whom he is not married.

Baby Momma: A single woman who has a baby out of wedlock.

Backdoor: A euphamism for anal sex.

Bae: A slang term meaning baby.

BDSM: Bondage Discipline (or Domination) Sadism and Masochism. This is a term for a variety of sexual practices that include bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, humiliation, and sadism.

Bear: A burly type of gay man who is usually hairy, large and masculine.

Buffin the Muffin: A term used to euphemistically describe the act of female masturbation.

Bull: A man who has a large penis and engages in sex with another man’s wife while the husband watches. This is done by the consent of all person’s involved, and may sometimes involve payment to the “bull”.

Butch: One who assumes a traditionally masculine role in appearance and personality traits, and is dominant in the relationship.

Buxom Definition

Buxom: Busty, large breasts.

Cam2Cam: A new sort of modern activity or sexual fetish where two or more persons may view each other online by the use of personal cameras.

Causal Encounter: A meetup for sexual acts and no emotional or relational commitment.

Casual Dating: The meeting of another for non-commital relations usually with the purpose of engaging in sexual activities.

CIS or Cisgender: Someone who identifies with their assigned gender at birth.

Classified Ad: An ad placed by private persons online or in print for the purpose of finding a mate, making public announcements, barter, selling goods or selling services.

Classifieds: Public ads for services, dating, the selling of goods, bartering or public announcements.

Closet: A person who has not yet “come out” with their LGBTQ+ lifestyle.

Clubbing: Going out to clubs, bars, nightclubs, dance clubs, taverns and anywhere where there is usually music, alcohol and dancing. These are popular places to go if one wants to meet others for hookups or just socializing.

Coed Definition

Coed: Usually a college girl who is of legal age and socially or sexually active.

Coming Out: A public declaration that someone is gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, etc.

Corporal punishment: The infliction of pain to gain control and domination over another. Most corporal punishment instruments, including but not limited to canes/switches, single/multi-tail whips, paddles, floggers, dragon’s tails, straps, tawses, and the palms of the hands for OTK (over the knee) spanking.

Cosplay: The hobby or activity of dressing up as a character from a work, novel, comic book, movie, TV series, or game.

Crib: One’s place of residence, usually set up for romantic or sexual overtures. A term most used by men who are single and playing the field.

Cougar: A mature woman who enjoys the sexual company of younger men or “cubs”.

Cross Dresser: A person, usually a male, who adopts the manner and dress associated with the opposite sex; also known as a transvestite although this terms is now considered derogatory.

Cub: A younger man who is an admirer of female cougars.

Cuck: Refers to a man who watches as his wife engages in sexual activity with another man. See “Cuckhold.”

Cuckhold: The taking on of another man to have sexual relations with the wife in place of the husband as the husband watches. The other man from outside of the marriage is usually called a “bull” and is generally well endowed. (more than the husband) The husband gets off on the thought of her being pleasured by another man’s larger penis. The wife gets off on the act of being with a man with a larger penis.

Cut: Circumcised penis with no foreskin.

Dating: Meeting and spending time with someone usually away from home. Engaging in mutually pleasant activities face to face for the purpose of getting to know each other to see if there is an attraction.

Den: The home or residence of a cougar.

Deviant: In a broad social context deviant refers to a subculture practicing dark art forms such as tattooing, piercing, poetry, writings, photography, clothing, makeup and even drug use. In the dating world it refers to sexually dark, unusual, violent and controlling acts considered to be outside of the norm by society at large.

Discreet: Keeping the interaction private or secretive. Usually when an escort or other sex worker keeps your mutual transaction (money for sex) private.

DL: Abbrev; Down Low. In secret or discreet.

DLS Definition

DLS: Dirty Little Secret.

Dominatrix: Usually a woman who physically or psychologically dominates her male or female sub in a sadomasochistic manner.

Domme: A dominant woman playing a sexual role usually in BDSM. Female dominant.

DP: Double Penetration, alt. DPP; Double Pussy Penetration.

Drag Queen: The phrase today used for men dressed as women. Drag is short for “dressed as girl” from the time when women couldn’t participate in theater so men dressed in women’s roles.

DTF: Down to fuck.

DTP: Down to party.

Ebony: Black or African-American.

Edging: Stimulation of the sexual organs and the denial of climax or orgasm.

Electrical Play: Electrostimulation units are used with numerous sexually titillating functions. These are methods of bringing you to new highs and lows not achievable with any other form. Filly: Usually a young female who is sexually ready for mating.

Flick The Bean: A euphemistic term for the act of female masturbation. Loosely translated as, “massaging the clitoris”.

Fling: A sexual encounter of a more spontaneous nature.

Fly: A sexy individual who is promiscuous with swag and game.

Foot Fetish: Or podophilia. The sexual objectivication of the feet, ankles, toes, heels, arches and sometimes shoes. One with a foot fetish is aroused by the feet of the sex they have a preference for.

Gay: Attraction to the same sex.

GF: Girl Friend.

Ghost (Ghosting): The deliberate act of not replying to calls, messages, texts, emails or other forms of communication.

Gigolo: A male sex worker or escort who can be gay or straight and receives money as compensation for sexual services rendered.

Glory Hole: An anonymous form of sex where a man places his penis through a hole in a wall and the person on the other side stimulates him.

Hot to Trot: Usually a female who is ready for sex with another.

Hooters: A slang term for a woman’s breasts.

HuCow: Human Cow. A woman who is treated like livestock for the purpose of breeding and mock animal husbandry.

Humiliation: The act of emotionally or physically shaming, belittling, demeaning or disgracing someone in their own eyes, or in the eyes of others. The result is the loss of respect by others and self-respect of the individual.

Incall: A term for a sex worker hosting a client at their location for the purpose of having sex.

Independent: A sex worker such as a prostitute or erotic masseuse who is free lance and does not have a pimp or middleman.

Interracial: The mixing of races during sexual encounters.

Junk: Genitalia – usually male, but can be used either way.

Obedience: The willing compliance to the dictates, demands, rules and or expectations of an authority figure.

Outcall: A term for a sex worker who is able to meet a client at an agreed upon location for sex.

Package: Male genitalia.

Passable: A transgender person who is able to pass in public as their assumed gender.

Playerette: A charming woman who is flirtatious, sexy and seductive and who draws men into a sexual relationship. This is usually for the purpose of financial or material gain. After dumping him she moves on to her next victim without remorse and has no loyalty to anyone but herself. Very similar to a Sugarbaby except far more deceitful.

Playmate: A woman who engages men and sometimes other women for sexual encounters with no strings attached.

Pole: Usually a metallic vertical rod used by strippers to perform erotic sensual dance moves.

Polyamorous: One who loves two or more people intimately.

Porn Definition

Porn: An foreshortening of pornography, the illicit content of a movie, magazine, book, photograph or website that features sex or sexual situations with no other redeeming qualities.

Pornography: The lewd and erotic content of a movie, magazine, book, photograph or website that features sex or sexual situations with no other redeeming qualities.

Queen: A flamboyant gay male who is perceived as always being on stage or the focus of attention.

Randy: In the mood for sex. More commonly used in Great Britain.

Reinactment: The acting out of a historical event or fictional event dressed in costumes fitting the event.

Revenge Sex: When a jilted or crossed lover wants to have intimate relations with another outside of their relationship out of spite. Usually a payback for infidelity by another partner.

Rimming: The oral stimulation of the anus by another.

Role Play: The act of imitating the character of someone (usually famous) who is different from yourself. This character imitation is of fictional characters in many instances.

Romance: Intimate social interactions between lovers meant to build affection and attraction toward their partner or mate. These overtures are not generally explicit in nature, but hint at explicit sexual intent.

Roses: A euphamistic code for $100.00. Ex. One rose equals $100.00.

Sadistic: In BDSM the taking pleasure in the infliction of pain, punishment, or humiliation on submissives. This may or may not be sexual in nature.

Sugardaddy: A male who is wealthy and willing to pay for the company of a younger female or male companion.

Sugarmomma: A female who is wealthy and willing to pay in exchange for the company of a younger male or female.

Superfly: An individual who is extraordinarily sexy and promiscuous.

Surprise: Sometimes referred to as the “surprise package”. The male genitalia of a trans woman sprung on the “unsuspecting” man during intimate encounters. Also known as a “trap”.

Swedish: A style of relaxation therapy combined with deep tissue massage.

Swingers: A person or couple who engages in the practice of swapping sexual partners or group sex such as a threesome.

Switch: One who can take on dominant (top) or submissive (bottom) roles during sexual acts.

T4M: Transgender seeking men.

T-Girl: A general term that covers a wide range of transgender people including: crossdressers, pre-op transsexuals and transvestites.

Tantric: A spiritual/sexual massage aimed at oneness and heightened pleasure through prolonged sexual stimulation and delayed orgasm.

Thai Massage: A traditional therapy developed in the Asian Pacific region combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and may include yoga postures. The idea of Sen-lines alias energy-lines was first used as “Thai yoga massage”.

Thick: Phat, chubby, voluptuous, fat, heavy or meaty, etc.

THOT: That Hoe Over There.

Threesome: Usually when a couple invites another person outside of the binary relationship in for the purpose of having sexual relations. The three engage each other during the sex acts, or two will team up on one.

Thug Definition

Thug: Usually a hostile, aggressive and violent man (or woman) who is predisposed to committing crimes and associating with others who have a similar mindset. Sometimes a personna or character role is taken on, a facade with little malicious intent.

Trap: Refers to a trans woman tricking a heterosexual man into intimacy, only to discover too late that the trans woman has male genitalia.

Tribute Fee: A monetary payment paid to the Master, Mistress or provider of BDSM, fetish, kink, roleplay services. This fee is used to cover the cost of the facilities, gear, instruments and furniture used in the session. It also covers the cleanup of facilities and provides the provider with an income. Tribute fees will range from modest to expensive depending on the provider and service rendered. Ex. A tribute fee is required by the Dominatrix before each session begins.

Trim: A reference to the genital region of a man or woman being shaved to some degree. Usually means shaved down hairless.

TS: Transsexual or transexual. Both spellings are accurate and commonly used.

Vampire: One who identifies as a blood-drinking immortal. One of the living dead who is nocturnal by nature and possesses supernatural powers.

Versatile: A male, female or transgender person who can be either top or bottom during sex.

Voluptuous: Full-bodied woman, curvy with large hips and breasts.

Voyeur: A man or woman turned on by viewing people in the nude or watching people having sex. This is usually done in secrecy which is part of the sexual thrill for the voyeur.

W4M: Women seeking men.

W4W: Women seeking women.

Whore: A female who is promiscuous lacking moral boundaries. Sometimes used by the trans, gay and lesbian communities.

Wife Breeding: The act of playing out the impregnation of a wife for the pleasure of the breeding fetish.

Wife Sharing: A form of swinging where husbands bring other wives into bed along with his own wife for the purpose of having sex. A form of a threesome.
